Griffin Medical Supplies was founded in 1991 by Ben Griffin- a leader in the medical supply industry. Ben was born and raised in South Georgia, studied biology as an undergrad, and received his Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southwestern.

 

 

Fueling his passion for the medical field, Ben obtained a job at the local hospital in the respiratory therapy department. He considers himself a 'forever student' and earned a respiratory registry from Biosystems Institute in Phoniex, Az in 1980.

 

 

While studying, learning, and practicing medicine, Ben maintained a family-oriented lifestyle. He married his sweetheart, Cindy Griffin, in 1976. They had two children- Jessica and Drew. Jessica teaches at Athens Academy in Athens, Georgia. She is married to Scott Eady and has 3 children. Drew is in his fourth year of a PH. D. program studying in religion and philosophy in San Antonio, Texas. He is married to Colleen.

Ben moved to North Georgia in 1979 to continue his work as a respiratory therapist at Hamilton Medical Center. While working and maintaining his values, Ben helped start a home medical equipment company for Dr. Drayton Sanders in 1981. This was a step towards the start of Griffin Medical Services.

 

 

His drive and determination to get modern medicine into the hands of healthcare professionals was the catalyst that begun Griffin Medical in Calhoun, Georgia in 1991. Since then, Griffin Medical has expanded into surrounding areas- Dalton, Ellijay & Calhoun.

 

 

Ben is beyond proud to be a community member of North Georgia. Ben finds hard work, values and dedication to be the most valuable qualities for success in running his company.
